I have read your article" In Some Schools, Learning Is Not Enough of Its Own Reward. " Here is what I think.
I agree that teachers should not be rewarded with money for their students' success. Teachers may be harder on students to make them improve so that they receive money. And teaching is teachers responsibility. The money which is rewarded to the students should be a scholarship. It is a good incentive for students to work harder.
In Hong Kong, students will have scholarship and merits if they are diligent in their studies and have good results yearly given by their schools. This system is better than the system mentioned in your article.
